Last-Minute Change Brings Gold.. Double Delight for India at the Asian Games!

India produced a memorable performance in shooting at the 2026 Asian Games, winning gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. Suruchi Singh and Kamaljeet finished on top with 484.6 points, ahead of South Korea’s Suhyeon Hong and Gaeun Choo, who won silver with 478.0. Iran took bronze with 415.8. The Indian pair had earlier topped qualification with 587 points, including series scores of 196, 195 and 196. Their final score also set a new Asian Games record.

The gold was particularly significant after both shooters had missed out on individual finals. Kamaljeet had finished ninth in the men’s individual event, while Suruchi ended her qualification in 26th place. The pairing itself was a late change, with Kamaljeet replacing Kedarling Balakrishna Uchaganve as Suruchi’s partner. India also added a silver medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions team event, where Aishwary Pratap Singh, Rudrankksh Patil and Niraj Kumar combined for 1762 points. China won gold with 1766, while South Korea secured bronze with 1751. Aishwary and Niraj also qualified for the individual final.
