Indian weightlifter Komal Kohar clinched a bronze medal at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in the women’s 48kg category. Replacing Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu in the competition, Komal delivered an impressive total lift of 177kg, including 78kg in snatch and 99kg in clean and jerk, to secure third place.
Athletes from Chinese Taipei dominated the event, with Huang Yi Chen winning the gold medal with a total lift of 193kg, while Fang Wang Ling secured silver with 192kg. Komal’s podium finish added another proud moment for Indian weightlifting on the continental stage.
