England youngster Jordan Cox has opened up about his experience with Virat Kohli. Although he did not get an opportunity to feature in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s playing XI during IPL 2026, Cox said the moments he spent with Kohli in the dressing room changed his life. He revealed that Kohli gave him valuable advice on handling pressure during major matches and at the time of making his debut. Kohli told him that a debut comes only once in a lifetime and encouraged him to remember the sacrifices of those who supported him and give his best on the field.
Cox also recalled suffering a major emotional setback after getting injured just three days before his first Test against New Zealand. At a time when he feared he might never play cricket again, Kohli’s words gave him the confidence to move forward, he said. Cox praised Kohli for being aggressive on the field but humble and kind off it. He added that watching Kohli taught him how to maintain intensity during matches while treating people with respect away from the field.
