The stage is set for the men’s cricket final between India and Pakistan at the Asian Games. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is not expected to attend the final scheduled for Saturday. Reports have indicated that Naqvi was unlikely to travel to Japan for the Asian Games. Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has confirmed plans to travel to Japan on October 1 and remain there through the men’s final.
The Asian Games men’s cricket final is scheduled for October 3, with India and Pakistan set to face each other in the title clash after progressing through the semifinals. Naqvi’s possible presence had drawn attention given his roles as ACC president and PCB chairman. However, the arrangements for the medal ceremony will ultimately depend on the regulations and decisions of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
