Ahead of Thursday's match against Namibia, the injury has caused a stir in the team. Jasprit Bumrah's yorker hit wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan the leg during an optional practice session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. He came out of the nets in agony. Ishan faced the bowling of Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy and Washington Sundar during the practice. Bumrah's quick yorker hit Ishan on his left foot and he sat down in pain. The team physios and support staff rushed to the spot and removed the shoe and pad and examined the injury. Bowling coach Morne Morkel also reviewed the situation. After a while, Ishaan limped and tried to walk. Realizing that the injury was not serious, he put on his pads again and played a few balls. However, he left the nets and went to the dressing room shortly after he looked a little embarrassed. It is not clear whether this was a precautionary measure or to give a batting chance to teammate Sanju Samson. Abhishek Sharma, who has already been admitted to the hospital with stomach pain, has doubts about his fitness. If he is not available, Sanju Samson is likely to make it to the final squad. Suryakumar Yadav attended the optional practice session and practiced big shots. Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube and Mohammed Siraj are out. Ground staff said that there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in Delhi in the evening and arrangements are being made to deal with it.
