Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has clarified that Pakistan’s stance on participating in the World Cup will be entirely based on the decision of the country’s government. He stated that the board does not have the authority to take an independent decision on this matter.
Naqvi mentioned that the Prime Minister of Pakistan is currently out of the country and that a final decision will be announced after he returns and consultations are held with the government. He emphasized that the decision on whether to participate in the World Cup falls solely under the government’s jurisdiction.
He further made it clear that in this matter, the Pakistan Cricket Board will follow the directives of the Pakistani government rather than those of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Whatever decision the government takes, the PCB will implement it accordingly, Naqvi said.
