

In a thrilling encounter of the IPL 2026 season held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Capitals registered an impressive victory. Defeating Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets, Delhi once again showcased their strength on home ground. Chasing a target of 163 runs, the team comfortably reached the total with 11 balls to spare.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted 162 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav led the innings with a well-made half-century, scoring 51 runs, while Rohit Sharma contributed 35 runs. Among the Delhi bowlers, Mukesh Kumar impressed with two wickets, while Axar Patel delivered an economical spell and picked up one wicket. In the absence of regular captain Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav led the Mumbai side in this match.
In response, Delhi Capitals lost an early wicket but recovered strongly thanks to an outstanding performance from young talent Sameer Rizvi. He played a match-winning knock of 90 runs off just 51 balls, turning the game in Delhi’s favor. Pathum Nissanka supported well with 44 runs, and David Miller sealed the victory with a boundary towards the end. Sameer Rizvi was deservedly awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding innings.
