

In the first T20 match between India and New Zealand held in Nagpur, Team India secured a resounding victory by a massive margin of 48 runs. With this win, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. In this match, played as part of the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026, India displayed complete dominance in both batting and bowling.
After losing the toss and batting first, India posted a massive score of 238 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Abhishek Sharma unleashed a devastating attack on the Kiwi bowlers, scoring 84 runs off just 35 balls (5 fours, 8 sixes). Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 runs in his 100th international match, while Rinku Singh, with an unbeaten 44 runs off 20 balls towards the end, significantly boosted the score.

Chasing a target of 239 runs, New Zealand faced difficulties from the start. Despite a lone fight by Glenn Phillips, who scored 78 runs off 40 balls, it was not enough. Among the Indian bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy and Shivam Dube took two wickets each, restricting New Zealand to 190 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
