

Team India registered a comfortable victory over Namibia in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 Group-A match held in Delhi. Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus won the toss and elected to bowl first, and India scored 209 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Opener Ishan Kishan gave the team a brilliant start by scoring 61 runs in just 24 balls. Sanju Samson, who came into the team in place of Abhishek Sharma, added runs quickly by scoring 22 runs in 7 balls. India scored 86 runs in the first 6 overs, registering its highest Powerplay score in the history of the T20 World Cup.
Although the score seemed to cross 250 at one stage, the Namibian bowlers recovered in the last overs, India lost wickets in succession and were limited to 209 runs. Hardik Pandya played a crucial innings, registering an important partnership with Shivam Dubey in the middle.
Chasing a target of 210 runs, Namibia could not cope with the Indian bowlers' strong bowling. Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, and Jasprit Bumrah took key wickets to restrict their opponents to a low total. Finally, Namibia was all out for 116 runs, giving India a 93-run victory.
