Indian archers produced a spectacular performance at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, winning three gold medals in a single day. The gold rush began with the women’s compound team, where Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep defeated China 238-234 in the final. Their score equalled the world record set by South Korea.
India then added two more gold medals. Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav defeated South Korea in a dramatic compound mixed-team final. The contest ended 157-157 after four ends, forcing a shoot-off, where India prevailed 20-19. Later, Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru completed the hat-trick by defeating China 238-237 in the men’s compound team final.
