Indian Women continued their dominance by registering an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the third T20I. With this win, achieved on Friday at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, India sealed the five-match T20 series 3–0 with two matches still to be played.
Chasing a target of 113, India comfortably reached 115/2 in just 13.2 overs. Opener Shafali Verma starred with a blistering 79 off 42 balls, while Jemimah Rodrigues remained unbeaten on 9.
Earlier, after winning the toss, India opted to bowl and their bowlers put up a commanding performance to restrict Sri Lanka to 112/7 in 20 overs. Vishmi Gunaratne top-scored for Sri Lanka with 32 runs, followed by Chamari Athapaththu (18) and Harshitha Samarawickrama (15). Renuka Singh Thakur led the bowling attack with four wickets, well supported by Deepti Sharma, who claimed three. Regular wickets in the middle overs prevented Sri Lanka from posting a competitive total. With India winning the first three matches, the series is already decided, while the fourth and fifth T20Is are scheduled for December 28 and December 30 respectively.
