Vinesh Phogat, who was unexpectedly disqualified from the Paris Olympics due to a minor weight violation, had initially announced her retirement out of shock and disappointment. After taking time to recover mentally, she has now withdrawn her retirement and announced her comeback through social media on Friday. Vinesh stated that she is ready to restart her Olympic journey with renewed determination and revealed that her son will be her biggest source of motivation as she aims for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

During the Paris Games, Vinesh qualified for the 50 kg final but was disqualified for being just 100 grams overweight. Her appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for joint silver was also rejected, leading to her emotional retirement. A three-time gold medalist at the Asian and Commonwealth Games, Vinesh is now gearing up once again, this time aiming to win her first-ever Olympic medal.
