Indian young shuttler Ayush Shetty has created history at the Asia Badminton Championships. Competing at the prestigious tournament held in Ningbo, China, he defeated world No. 1 and defending champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand in the semi-final to secure his place in the final. Despite losing the first game 10-21, he made a remarkable comeback with exceptional fighting spirit. He eventually won the match 10-21, 21-19, 21-17.
In this intense three-game semi-final, Ayush Shetty bounced back strongly after dropping the opening game and went on to win the next two games to book his place in the final. With this victory, he achieved a rare milestone by becoming only the second Indian shuttler to reach the final of the Asia Badminton Championships. The last Indian to achieve this feat was Dinesh Khanna in 1965. If Ayush wins the final, he will become the first Indian shuttler to win the title in the tournament’s history.
