Indian Boxers Shine at Asian Games..

Indian boxers continued their impressive run at the 18th Asian Games, with three pugilists booking their places in the semifinals on Sunday, the eighth day of competition. Ankush Panghal in the men’s 80kg category, Praveen Hooda in the women’s 65kg category and Narender Berwal in the men’s 90+kg category advanced to the last four, thereby assuring themselves of at least bronze medals.

Ankush Panghal delivered a dominant performance in the men’s 80kg quarterfinals, defeating Nekruz Salomov of Tajikistan 5-0. The boxer, who recently won gold at the Commonwealth Games, controlled the bout from the outset and secured a convincing victory. India had already added medals in squash and the women’s 200m on the eighth day, while the boxers further strengthened the country’s medal campaign.
