India to Play Six-Match ODI Series in South Africa Ahead of 2027 World Cup

India are set to play a six-match ODI series in South Africa ahead of the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The series is expected to be an important part of India’s preparations for the tournament, which will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. India’s 2027 World Cup campaign will begin against Australia in Cape Town on October 7.

India have not played an ODI in South Africa since their 2023 tour. Playing six ODIs at venues across South Africa, including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Centurion, will give the Indian team an opportunity to get familiar with the local playing conditions well before the World Cup. The series is expected to form part of India’s acclimatisation and preparation strategy for the tournament.
