The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Test and ODI squads for the upcoming series against Afghanistan. Shubman Gill will lead the Test team, while KL Rahul has been named vice captain, replacing Rishabh Pant. Several young players, including Sai Sudharsan and others, have been included in the squad.
For the ODI series, senior players such as Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul have been selected. Shreyas Iyer has been appointed vice-captain for ODIs. The availability of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya will depend on their fitness levels, as confirmed by the selectors.
The selection reflects a balance between experienced players and youngsters, as the board aims to build a strong squad for the future.
