Indian chess players Mayank Chakraborty and Prateeti Bordoloi clinched the classical titles at the Asian Junior Chess Championship. Mayank drew his final round game today and finished with 7.5 points to win the boys’ title. Russia’s Artyom Pinzhin claimed silver, while India’s Daksh Goyal secured bronze.
In the girls’ classical category, Prateeti also drew her final-round game and finished with 7.5 points to take the gold medal. Kazakhstan’s Maria Kholyavko won silver, while India’s Nivedita secured bronze. Telugu players Sharanya and Advait finished sixth in their respective categories.
