India Script History, Chase Down 406 Against West Indies

India produced a record-breaking batting display to defeat West Indies by eight wickets in the second ODI in Guwahati. Chasing 406, India reached the target in just 43.3 overs, with captain Shubman Gill smashing an unbeaten 223 off 133 balls and Rohit Sharma scoring 101 off 75 balls. Gill reached his double century in 117 balls, registering the fastest ODI double century in history.

Earlier, West Indies posted a record 405/7 in 50 overs, their highest ODI total against India, with John Campbell (101), Shai Hope (104) and Amir Jangoo (114) scoring centuries. It was the first time three West Indies batters scored hundreds in the same ODI innings. Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets and completed 200 ODI wickets. The two teams together scored 811 runs in the match, making it one of the highest-scoring ODIs.
