

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest annual ODI team rankings, with India national cricket team retaining the No.1 position. India tops the rankings with 118 rating points, followed by New Zealand national cricket team with 113 points and Australia national cricket team in third place with 109 points. South Africa national cricket team climbed to fourth position with 102 points, overtaking Pakistan national cricket team, which slipped to fifth with 95 points.
Sri Lanka national cricket team, Afghanistan national cricket team, England cricket team, Bangladesh national cricket team, and West Indies cricket team occupy the remaining positions in the top rankings. ICC stated that the rankings were calculated based on matches played over the last three years, with 100 percent weightage given to matches since May 2025 and 50 percent weightage for matches played in the previous two years. The ICC also confirmed format changes for the 2027 ODI World Cup, which will feature 14 teams divided into two groups of seven. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage, followed by the semi-finals and final.
