Led by Rohit Sharma and later under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, Team India scripted history by winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup twice consecutively. Riding on this dominant run, India has consolidated its position at the top of the International Cricket Council T20 rankings with 275 rating points, comfortably ahead of England (262) and Australia (258).
As per the latest annual update, matches played since May 2025 carry full weightage, while those from the previous two years have 50 percent weightage. India has remained unbeaten in bilateral T20 series between the 2024 and 2026 World Cups. The top seven rankings remain unchanged, while Bangladesh moved up to 8th and Sri Lanka slipped to 9th. Emerging teams like the USA and Italy showed notable progress, while some teams were dropped due to insufficient matches.
