The India-Pakistan rivalry has once again emerged as the biggest attraction ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. Since the ticket ballot opened on October 1, more than one million applications have reportedly been received, with the India-Pakistan match scheduled for October 10 attracting over one lakh applications alone. The strong demand has emerged well before the tournament, underlining the enormous interest surrounding the marquee clash.
India’s other matches are also generating significant demand. The South Africa-India fixture has received more than 86,000 applications, while the India-Australia match has crossed 80,000 applications. Another potential India-Pakistan encounter in the Super 7 round has attracted around 75,000 applications, while nearly 65,000 fans are competing for tickets to the grand final at Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium. The tournament is scheduled to be held across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with organisers offering affordable ticket categories, family bundles and special concessions for students, pensioners and local communities.
