India are likely to receive a boost ahead of the third T20 match against New Zealand, with vice-captain Axar Patel expected to make a comeback. Axar had missed the second T20 due to a hand injury but is reportedly fit and available for selection in today’s match.
The third T20 will be played in Guwahati this evening, with the match scheduled to begin at 7 PM. Having already won the first two games, India will be aiming to secure another victory and maintain their winning momentum. Meanwhile, New Zealand will be desperate to register their first win of the series.
Team changes are also being discussed ahead of the match. With Arshdeep failing to impress in the previous game, the team management is reportedly considering bringing Jasprit Bumrah into the playing eleven.
If Axar Patel returns to the side, one of the spinners may have to make way. Varun Chakravarthy or Kuldeep Yadav could be benched depending on the final team combination, according to sources.
