India Hint at Three Left-Arm Spinners for Sri Lanka Test

Team India are set for another important World Test Championship assignment as they take on Sri Lanka in the first Test at Galle from August 15. With the conditions expected to assist spin, the biggest selection question is whether India will field three left-arm spinners. Bowling coach Morne Morkel indicated that Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Manav Suthar are all strong options, highlighting their different skill sets and ability to take wickets.

The pace combination is still under consideration, with Mohammed Siraj expected to lead the attack and Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar and other options competing for the remaining spot. Morkel also pointed out that the ball could become softer after 25-30 overs, making bowling plans and the use of short-pitched deliveries important. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan has joined the squad as Sai Sudharsan’s replacement after the latter was ruled out with a toe injury.
