India Crush West Indies by 8 Wickets as Kohli, Gill Hit Centuries

India registered a convincing eight-wicket victory over the West Indies in the first ODI in Thiruvananthapuram, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. After West Indies posted 295/7, Justin Greaves top-scored with 101, while India’s Kuldeep Yadav impressed with four wickets. The visitors struggled to build momentum after a strong start as India’s bowling attack restricted them to a below-300 total.

Chasing 296, India reached 300/2 in 41.4 overs. Shubman Gill scored a brilliant 110, while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 139 to guide India home. Kohli smashed his 55th ODI century and also crossed the landmark of 15,000 ODI runs during his innings. The duo added 151 runs for the second wicket, completely taking control of the chase.
