Team India women's star batter and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana etched her name in the record books during the fourth T20I against Sri Lanka at Thiruvananthapuram. She became the second Indian woman and the fourth overall in international women’s cricket to complete 10,000 runs, achieving a remarkable milestone in her illustrious career.
In the list of highest run-scorers in women’s international cricket, Mandhana now follows former India captain Mithali Raj (10,868), New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (10,652), and England’s Charlotte Edwards (10,273). Mandhana dazzled in the match with a fluent 80, smashing 11 fours and three sixes, and registered her 32nd T20 half-century, underlining her dominance and consistency at the highest level.
