

Australia Women secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over India Women in the first ODI played in Brisbane. After winning the toss and opting to bat, India were bowled out for 214 runs in 48.3 overs. In response, Australia chased down the target with ease, scoring 217 for the loss of four wickets in 38.2 overs. Beth Mooney led the chase with an impressive 76 off 79 balls, including five fours and two sixes, while Alyssa Healy contributed a solid half-century, scoring 50 off 70 deliveries. Annabel Sutherland remained unbeaten on 48, and Litchfield added a useful 32, guiding Australia to victory.
Earlier, India’s innings was anchored by Smriti Mandhana (58) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (53), both scoring half-centuries. Kashvee Gautam narrowly missed her fifty with a brisk 43. However, the rest of the batting lineup struggled, with Pratika Rawal dismissed for a duck and several middle-order batters failing to convert starts. Richa Ghosh scored 23 runs. Among the Australian bowlers, Ashleigh Gardner picked up three wickets, while Megan Schutt claimed two, and Darcie Brown, Alana King, Tahlia McGrath, and Sophie Molineux took one wicket each. For India, Sricharani took two wickets, while Kranti Goud and Deepti Sharma picked up one each.
