

The Indian women’s cricket team is gearing up for a major international challenge as Harmanpreet Kaur-led side has departed from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to the United Kingdom for the England tour and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to begin on June 12. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will host the prestigious tournament, with India preparing through a three-match T20 series against England from May 28 to June 2, followed by warm-up matches against West Indies in Cardiff and England in Derby.
India has been placed in Group B alongside Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Netherlands. The team will begin its World Cup campaign on June 14 against Pakistan, followed by matches against the Netherlands, South Africa, Bangladesh, and Australia. The squad, led by Harmanpreet Kaur with Smriti Mandhana as vice-captain, features key players including Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, and others.
