The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined India and the West Indies for maintaining slow over rates during the third and final ODI of their three match series in New Chandigarh. India were found to be four overs short of the required rate after time allowances were taken into account, while West Indies were two overs short.
Under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their team fails to bowl within the allotted time. As a result, India were fined 20 per cent of their match fees, while West Indies were fined 10 per cent. Both captains pleaded guilty and accepted the proposed sanctions, avoiding the need for formal hearings.
