The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz for violating the ICC Anti-Doping Code. The 32-year-old tested positive for Carboxy-THC, a substance categorised as a "Substance of Abuse." The sample was collected after Pakistan's opening match against the Netherlands during the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup in Colombo on February 7.
Mohammad Nawaz accepted the anti-doping violation and cooperated with the investigation. Under ICC regulations, the initial three-month suspension may be reduced to one month if he successfully completes an approved treatment programme. The decision has drawn significant attention from the cricketing community ahead of Pakistan's upcoming international fixtures.
