I Had Never Seen That Much Money in My Life - Rinku Singh

Indian cricketer Rinku Singh shared his struggles with financial hardships during the early stages of his career. He said he earned ₹1 lakh from Ranji Trophy matches, ₹35,000 for One Day games, and ₹17,000 for T20 matches. His first priority was to clear his family debts, which amounted to around ₹2.5 to ₹3 lakh.

Rinku revealed that his ₹10 lakh contract with Kings XI Punjab in 2017 helped him clear all the debts. Later, when he received an ₹80 lakh contract, he said he had never seen that much money in his life. He recalled how even a single rupee from his father was valuable during childhood and said that cricket helped him build a better life and a home for his family.
