India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana etched her name into the record books with a brilliant half-century in the one-off Women's Test against England at Lord's. As the iconic venue hosted its first-ever Women's Test, Mandhana became the first female cricketer to score a Test fifty at Lord's. She reached the milestone in just 50 balls, smashing nine boundaries and one six in a memorable innings.
The knock also earned Mandhana another milestone, making her the third-fastest Indian woman to score a Test fifty. She bettered her previous record of a 51-ball fifty against Australia in 2021 by reaching the landmark in just 50 deliveries. After being asked to bat first, India reached 123/3 in 25 overs, with Mandhana unbeaten on 56 and Harmanpreet Kaur batting on 15.
