India’s women’s cricket team completed a 3–0 clean sweep against Zimbabwe in the three-match T20I series, with former captain Harmanpreet Kaur delivering an impressive performance in the final match. She was named Player of the Match, marking her first such award since stepping down as captain, according to the report. The recognition came after criticism over her recent struggles to score runs. Speaking after receiving the award, Harmanpreet said she had focused on enjoying her time in the middle rather than worrying about pressure. She explained that hitting a boundary off the second ball gave her confidence that the pitch was good for batting and allowed her to play freely.
Harmanpreet credited batting coach Himanshu for helping her regain confidence and improve her shot selection through focused practice sessions. She explained that the coach understood her natural style of batting and designed training sessions that replicated the pressure of a match, helping her prepare mentally and technically. While discussing his contribution, she became emotional and struggled to continue speaking before stepping aside. The heartfelt moment was captured on video and subsequently went viral on social media, drawing attention to her determination, the support she received from the coaching staff and her return to form.
