Former doubles badminton star Gutta Jwala has strongly criticised the Indian badminton administration, alleging favouritism, lack of transparency, and absence of long-term planning. She expressed disappointment that her contributions to the sport’s development are not being recognised.
Jwala also spoke about her badminton academy in Hyderabad, stating that despite repeated requests, authorities have not supported her initiative. She said her facility, spread over 50,000 square feet with 14 courts, was built independently. She added that she prefers training young players aged under-13 and under-15 to build future champions, but claimed she is being unfairly labelled for her outspoken nature.
