At the Federation Cup Senior National Athletics Championships, Gurvinder Singh delivered a sensational performance in the men’s 100m sprint. The 25-year-old clocked an outstanding 10.09 seconds, creating a new national record and becoming the first Indian athlete to finish the race in under 10.10 seconds. His timing also stands as the second-best in Asia.
The previous national record of 10.15 seconds, set by Animesh Kujur in the semifinals, was shattered. In the final, Animesh Kujur (10.20s) and Pranav Gaurav (10.29s) finished second and third respectively. In the 400m event, Vishal TK also impressed with a strong performance, adding to the exciting atmosphere of the championship.
