Gulveer Singh Wins Asian Games Silver

Indian long-distance runner Gulveer Singh won the silver medal in the men’s 10,000m at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya. He completed Friday’s final in 28:29.38 to finish second. Bahrain’s Birhanu Balew won gold in 28:27.51, while fellow Bahraini Albert Kiptoo took bronze in 28:34.18.

Gulveer had won bronze in the 10,000m at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and improved his medal this time. The Army athlete has also been in strong form, winning two gold medals at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships. In another athletics event, Baranica Elangovan won bronze in the women’s pole vault, giving India its first Asian Games medal in the event.
