

As part of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026), Gujarat Giants registered a thrilling 3-run victory over Delhi Capitals on Tuesday at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. After winning the toss, Gujarat Giants opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 174/9 in their allotted 20 overs. In the chase, Delhi Capitals fought hard until the final moments, but disciplined bowling from the Gujarat bowlers ensured the win for the Giants.
For Gujarat, captain Beth Mooney starred with a solid half-century (50+), while Tanuj Kanwar accelerated the scoring in the final overs to give the team a respectable total. On the Delhi side, N. Sri Charani picked up crucial wickets, trying to contain Gujarat’s innings. During the chase, Delhi batters Nikki Prasad (47) and Sneh Rana (29) battled valiantly for victory. However, in the final over, Sophie Devine bowled brilliantly, taking key wickets, leaving Delhi unable to complete the chase. With this win, Gujarat Giants have strengthened their position in the playoff race, while Delhi Capitals now face pressure to win their upcoming matches to stay in contention.
