Questions over the international debut of India’s young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi are growing, attracting attention not only from Indian fans but also from global cricket followers. Many former cricketers have expressed disappointment over his non-selection in the recent T20 series against Ireland.
Former England captains Michael Vaughan and Alastair Cook have also urged the BCCI to give the youngster an opportunity. Vaughan questioned why Vaibhav was not included and called on BCCI and chief selector Ajit Agarkar to take notice, while Cook said he would love to see the 15-year old in action soon.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already impressed in the IPL with Rajasthan Royals, scoring 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.30 and winning the Player of the Tournament award. Despite being part of the squad for the Ireland tour, he did not feature in the playing XI, and India also lost the series 0-2.
