With this triumph, Germany won their fourth Men’s Hockey World Cup and drew level with Pakistan’s record of four titles.
Germany held firm under intense pressure from Spain in the closing stages, producing a disciplined defensive performance to protect their narrow lead until the final whistle. In the women’s competition, Argentina defeated the Netherlands 3-1 in a shootout after a 1-1 draw to lift the World Cup title. Germany and Argentina thus emerged as the men’s and women’s champions of the 2026 Hockey World Cup.
