American tennis star Coco Gauff's Wimbledon campaign ended in the women's singles semi-finals after a hard-fought defeat to her Czech opponent, who won 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (12-10). Despite a spirited comeback, Gauff fell short in the deciding set, missing out on the opportunity to claim her third Grand Slam singles title.
Following the defeat, Gauff faced abusive and hateful comments on social media. Responding confidently, the 22-year-old said criticism and trolling only motivate her to become stronger. She expressed hope of returning next year to win the Wimbledon title and let her success answer those who doubted her. Gauff is already a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the 2023 US Open and the 2025 French Open.
