

Former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran passed away at the age of 38 following a prolonged battle with Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare and serious immune disorder. His death marks a significant loss for Afghanistan cricket, where he was regarded as one of the pioneers who helped shape the national team's journey on the international stage.
Zadran represented Afghanistan from 2009 to 2020, playing 44 One Day Internationals and 36 T20 Internationals. Known for his aggressive pace, distinctive run-up, and fighting spirit, he earned the respect of fans across the cricketing world. He will always be remembered for scoring the winning runs in Afghanistan's historic first-ever ODI World Cup victory against Scotland during the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.
