FIFA WorldCup 2026 : Belgium Out...Spain Into the Semifinals

Spain secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Belgium in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter final to book their place in the semi finals. Fabian Ruiz gave Spain the lead in the 30th minute, but Charles De Ketelaere equalised for Belgium in the 41st minute. It was the first goal Spain conceded in the tournament.

With the match heading towards extra time, Mikel Merino capitalised on a costly mistake by Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens in the 88th minute to score the winner. Spain will now face France in the semi finals. Young star Lamine Yamal was named Player of the Match, while videos of injured goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois consoling Lammens after the match have gone viral on social media.
