The winning team of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will receive a record prize money of ₹451 crore. In comparison, Argentina, the 2022 World Cup winner, received ₹379 crore. FIFA has increased the total prize pool by 48.9 percent this time, raising it from ₹3,971 crore in 2022 to ₹5,911 crore for the 2026 tournament.
Each of the 48 teams eliminated in the group stage will receive ₹81 crore, with an additional ₹13.53 crore provided to each team for tournament preparation. Teams advancing to the Round of 32 will get ₹99.27 crore, quarter-finalists ₹135 crore, and teams reaching the quarters ₹171 crore. The fourth-placed team will earn ₹243 crore, the third-placed team ₹261 crore, and the runners-up ₹297 crore.
Compared to the World Cup, the prize money for the Club World Cup winner is higher. Chelsea, winners of the 2025 Club World Cup, received ₹1,128 crore. Since the operational costs for club teams are higher than national teams, FIFA has adjusted the prize money accordingly.
