Sunrisers Hyderabad's IPL campaign came to an end after the team failed to chase Rajasthan Royals' daunting target of 244 runs in the Eliminator. SRH managed only 196 runs, resulting in a disappointing defeat and elimination from the tournament. Following the match, several photos and videos allegedly showing Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran in tears went viral across social media platforms.
However, a fact check has revealed that the viral content is misleading. Some users digitally edited photographs of Kavya Maran interacting with SRH player Ishan Kishan and coach Muttiah Muralitharan after the match and falsely portrayed them as scenes of emotional distress. Additionally, AI-generated videos were circulated claiming that Ishan Kishan and Muralitharan were consoling a crying Kavya Maran. Similar misinformation campaigns involving edited visuals have surfaced in the past, including content targeting wrestlers Sangita Phogat and Vinesh Phogat.
