The five-match T20 series between England and India begins today, with the first match scheduled at Chester-le-Street in the UK at 10 PM IST. Ahead of the opening game, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced its playing XI, led by captain Harry Brook. The team includes several star players but has surprised fans by resting key pacer Jofra Archer and senior spinner Adil Rashid.
England fields a strong mix of youth and experience with Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, Jacob Bethell, and Tom Banton strengthening the batting lineup, while Sam Curran, Will Jacks, and Liam Dawson add all-round depth. The bowling attack will be handled by Saqib Mahmood and Luke Wood. With a balanced squad, England aims to start the series on a winning note, though the absence of Archer and Rashid is seen as a potential advantage for India. The remaining matches are scheduled in Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol, and Southampton.
