Duleep Trophy Final: Tilak Varma’s Fun Sledging of Vaibhav Suryavanshi Goes Viral

The Duleep Trophy final between East Zone and South Zone witnessed a light-hearted exchange between South Zone captain Tilak Varma and young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi. After East Zone won the toss and opted to bat, Vaibhav opened the innings alongside Abhimanyu Easwaran and played an attacking knock. As the 15-year-old took on the South Zone bowlers with aggressive strokes, Tilak attempted to unsettle him with some playful sledging. A viral video shows Tilak approaching Vaibhav and jokingly saying, “Vice-captain, what is this?” The two were seen smiling afterward, making it clear that the exchange was in good spirits.

Interestingly, Vaibhav was dismissed soon after the incident, scoring 44 off 37 balls, including five fours and a six. Abhimanyu Easwaran top-scored for East Zone with a well-made 72, while Sudeep Kumar contributed six runs. At the latest stage of play, East Zone had reached 158 for three, with Shikhar unbeaten on 34 and Ishan Kishan yet to open his account. For South Zone, Tripurana and V. Milind had taken one wicket each.
