Indian archer Dhiraj Bommadevara has achieved a major milestone by becoming Asia's No.1 in the men's recurve category in the latest World Archery rankings. The Vijayawada-born archer secured 225.5 ranking points and climbed three places to become World No.8, making him the only Indian archer in the top 10 of the global rankings.
Dhiraj's rise comes after an outstanding run in the Archery World Cup Stage 3, where he won individual and mixed team gold medals. He also qualified for the mixed team bronze medal match at World Cup Stage 4, narrowly missing out on a podium finish. Meanwhile, Jyothi Surekha Vennam slipped one place to fourth in the women's compound individual rankings, while Taniparthi Chikitha dropped two places to 52nd.
