Manish Ojha, the childhood coach of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, has expressed strong displeasure over the way India head coach Gautam Gambhir and the team management are handling the young cricketer. Questioning the decision to keep Vaibhav on the bench, Ojha described him as a “storm” and suggested that those attempting to hold him back would eventually have to give way. He argued that keeping talented players on the bench was not the right approach to developing their potential.
Ojha further stressed that young players must be given opportunities to perform under challenging conditions if they are to be prepared for the future. He described the lack of opportunities for a talented youngster like Vaibhav as unfortunate and questioned whether the team management was deliberately discouraging him. Criticising Gambhir and the management, Ojha alleged that they were acting in an authoritarian manner in their handling of the young cricketer.
