The Karnataka State Cricket Association organised a special event at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as part of its golden jubilee celebrations, honouring Indian cricket legends. Stands in the stadium were named after former players Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid and former India women’s team captain Shantha Rangaswamy. The ceremony was conducted by the committee led by newly elected KSCA president Venkatesh Prasad. The association also named the M-3 and M-4 stands after former administrators Shri Nagaraj and Captain Dr. Thimmappaiah.
In a similar event held last year at the same venue, nameplates were installed to honour Karnataka legends Erapalli Prasanna, Gundappa Viswanath, Bhagwat Chandrasekhar, Syed Kirmani, Brijesh Patel, Roger Binny and Javagal Srinath. KSCA officials including vice-president Sujith Som Sundar, secretary Santosh Menon and others attended the function. Former captain Sourav Ganguly praised the initiative of honouring the legends.
