India’s Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav clinched gold in the compound mixed-team archery event at the 2026 Asian Games. The Indian pair defeated South Korea in a closely fought final that went to a shoot-off, securing India’s second gold medal in archery at the Games. The victory also earned India a quota place for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, where compound mixed team archery is set to make its Olympic debut.
The victory was particularly significant for Chikitha, who now has two gold medals at these Asian Games after also being part of India’s victorious women’s compound team. Sahil, meanwhile, bounced back strongly after his individual campaign ended with a pre-quarterfinal loss to compatriot Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru. The mixed-team triumph provided a memorable comeback for the Indian archer.
