

Chennai Super Kings delivered a thrilling performance at Chepauk to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets in IPL 2026. Chasing a massive target of 204, young batter Urvil Patel smashed a sensational 65 off just 23 balls, including eight sixes, putting Lucknow bowlers under tremendous pressure. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed 42 runs, while Prashant Veer and Shivam Dube finished the chase calmly in the death overs with explosive hitting.

Earlier, Lucknow posted 203 runs on the board, powered by opener Josh Inglis, who hammered 85 runs. Shadab Ahmed and Himmat Singh added valuable late runs to push the total beyond 200. However, Chennai bowlers Overton and Anshul Kamboj struck crucial blows in the middle overs. With this victory, Chennai registered its sixth win of the season and climbed into the top five with 12 points, while Lucknow was officially eliminated from the playoff race after suffering its eighth defeat in 11 matches.
